Greetings to all the friends of St. Martin and his Apostolate.
My name is Fr John Walsh and I am a friar of the Irish Dominican Province. I was born in Enniscorthy Co Wexford in 1980 and joined the Dominicans in 1999. My late grandmother was a great friend of St Martin and my sister and parents collect and count the donations in the “mite boxes” in our local town for the St martin Apostolate.
For the last three years I have been the Prior and Parish Priest of St. Saviour’s in Dublin’s City Centre, our house of formation and the shrine of St. Martin. Over my years as a priest I have preached many parish missions and novenas and have been amazed by the devotion to St. Martin among the Irish people. Wherever I have preached with my brothers on missions we have brought the relic of St. Martin with us as our companion and intercessor. Gods people love this humble saint and I know from many experiences the miracles he continues to work among those who are his clients, especially the sick and suffering, even those doing a driving test!
Congratulations John on your new appointment, always remembered in our prayers, Phil and Seamus
