St Martin Shrine – Restoration Fundraiser

Update on National Shrine Fundraiser

As part of the 800-year celebrations of the Dominican Order’s arrival in Ireland, St. Martin Apostolate embarked on an exciting journey to refurbish The National Shrine to St. Martin, located in a dedicated chapel at St. Saviour’s Church, Dominic Street, Dublin 1.

 Thank You to Our Supporters

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of our supporters who contributed to the National St. Martin Shrine Refurbishment. Your generosity is astounding, and we were thrilled to be able to announce that we exceeded our initial fundraising goal of €10,000! The incredible response meant we were able to undertake much more in the refurbishment of the shrine and enhance our missions.

Constructed by Fr. Coffey O.P. in 1966 to celebrate the canonization of our beloved Saint, the Shrine has served our community faithfully for 58 years. However, it definitely needed some love and attention, making this year a fitting time to embark on its refurbishment in celebration of the 800 years of Dominican presence in Ireland.

Special Mass and Blessing of the Shrine

We are pleased to share that the refurbishment works were completed just in time for a very special Mass held on St. Martin’s Feast Day, November 3rd. His Excellency Archbishop Luis Mariano Montemayor, Papal Nuncio to Ireland, celebrated this significant occasion and unveiling and blessing of our re – dedicated Shrine. It was truly wonderful to see so many of you in attendance—it was a heartwarming experience!
