St Martin Shrine – Restoration Fundraiser

Can you help?...

As a part of the 800 year Celebrations of the Dominican Order arriving in Ireland, St Martin Apostolate are hoping to refurbish The National Shrine to St Martin which is located in a dedicated chapel in St Saviour’s Church, Dominic Street, Dublin 1

This Shrine was specially constructed by Fr Coffey O.P. in 1966 to celebrate the canonisation of our beloved Saint. 57 years later and our shrine needs some love and attention. We felt it was a fitting time to refurbish the shrine and to celebrate the 800 years of Dominican presence in Ireland.

New Addition to the Shrine will be a Benefactors Plaque to say Thank You!

All donors names will be entered into a Book of Intentions which will remain in the newly refurbished shrine. We will inscribe a plaque with the names of our significant benefactors in recognition of their enduring support. Perhaps you would like your parent’s names, that of a sibling, a friend or your own name to be remembered forever at The National St Martin Shrine.

Each of those named supporters will be enrolled in our Perpetual Masses. Remember, all our supporters (alive or deceased) are included in our Masses offered by The Dominican Order each day.

We greatly appreciate any support we receive for our project. Keep scrolling to find out how you can help…

We will  keep you updated as we plan for this work but hope to have it finished and opened on our Saint’s Feast day – 3rd November. Of particular interest to some of our supporters will be the original canonisation banner which hung in St Peter’s Basilica during the canonisation in May 1962 – we hope to display this banner in pride of place along with the ceremonial candle from that mass.

Below you will find a list of works that need to be carried out in the Shrine and how much each will cost. If you would like to donate to this particular cause, you can do so by clicking on the image section or click the button at the bottom of the page, alternatively, you can call us on 01 8745465.

On the donation page, you will have the option of suggested amounts or you can select “Other” to enter your own amount. You also have the option to select from the drop-down box which set of works you would like your donation to be used for, or you can choose wherever it is needed.

You can donate the whole amount or a make a contribution towards each job or all works. Donations can also be made as a once – off or set up on a monthly/yearly basis, just follow the instructions.

Every little bit helps us so much and we are extremely grateful. Thank You!
